Pilates may be a great mode of movement for those newer to exercise because of its focus on alignment, body awareness and the ability to work at one’s own pace by using modifications.


Those new to Pilates may greatly benefit by beginning their practice on the equipment, such as the reformer or chair. Pilates equipment can provide assistance in engaging the correct muscle group and also can give them feedback on whether an exercise is being performed correctly that cannot be achieved on the mat.


Joseph Pilates developed the system of exercises and specialized equipment with a simple philosophy: movement heals and strengthens the body. The exercises target five muscle groups: abdominals, inner and outer thighs, buttocks and the back; or what Mr. Pilates called the power house of the body. Not unlike the engine of a car, a strong power house enables the body to move freely in all directions.      

The Pilates method of exercise fully engages the body, mind and spirit in controlled movements that strengthen and stretch targeted muscles.

 

The classical style of Pilates represents a unique approach to exercise that develops body awareness, core strength, increased flexibility and an ease of movement.

 

All classes/sessions are 55 minutes long and are taught by certified Pilates instructors using the traditional method and authentic equipment designed by Joseph Pilates.

 

 

Private Session: Enjoy a one-on-one session focusing on the Pilates apparatus. Private sessions are truly essential, not only to grasp the fundamentals, but also to effectively move through intermediate and eventually advanced movements.

Duo-Private Session: Train on the Pilates apparatus with a friend or family member.

Group Session: Train on the Pilates reformer/tower in a group of up to four participants. You will move through a series of exercises and full body movements that emphasize your core musculature. All movements promote strength, stability, improved posture, and increase your overall range of motion.

 

MVe Chair Class: An exciting group exercise class incorporating core-strengthening Pilates exercises with familiar fitness moves for a dynamic, music-driven fusion workout on the Peak Pilates MVe Chair.
